Our Story

I was serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Todos Santos, Guatemala- a beautiful indigenous community in Guatemala’s Western Highlands- when I met my now-husband Juan Luis.  A dog, a chicken, and a school (see The Bottle Project post for more) brought us together, and we’ve be tackling life as a team ever since.

We bought our first house in 2015; a 1931 single family fixer-upper in the Takoma neighborhood of Washington, D.C., and together we create, reuse, restore and renovate our home, one project at a time, in a budget-friendly, design-focused way.
